A Radiologic Study of Each Cardiac Diameter, Frontal Cardiac Area and Cardiothoracic Ratio in Korean Hypertensive Patient.

Abstract

|
Measurements of each cardiac diameters, frontal cardiac area and cardio thoracic ratio
were carried out in 80 cases of Korean hypertensive patients, 40 cases of male and 40
cases of female, by the drawing and calculation on chest roentgenogram. Formula used in this study is a follows:
Frontal cardiac area= 4 x long diameter x broad diameter
Increase of each cardiac diameter frontal cardiac area and C/T ratio in hypertensive patients seem to be evident but the degree of the cardiomegaly is variable.
Comparing to normal data by Choo and Rhee, all the data are increased in variable degree.
